Woolly Mammoth:

Woolly mammoths lived from about 2 million years ago to as recent as 9,000 years ago. They were here millions of years after the dinosaurs were extinct and existed with man. At one time or other, they occupied almost every area on earth. The size of the mammoth ranged from 9 feet to over 15 feet tall. Woolly mammoths were elephant like mammals that were well adapted to a cold climate. They were plant eaters with long dense hair with a under fur. Their ears were large but much smaller than the elephant of today. The trunk was similar to the elephant but the tusks were much larger and curved. It is believed that tusks could have reached in excess of 17 feet long. It is believed that the woolly mammoth became extinct because of the climatic changes, hunting by man, and disease.
